Better food out there for the money.

The primary grain is rice , which is a fairly decent grain to use . But there is 3 by-products of rice in the top 4 ingredients listed , which shows it is the main ingredient .It also lists rice gluten which is nothing but filler and has no nutritional value . It also contains beet pulp , which is a by-product of sugar beets . Some dog food manufacturers claim that it is a good sorce of fibre , but has been found to cause more harm than good .

There are much better foods out there for the price of this one .

Excellent Mass Market Dog Food

This is a fine mass-market dog food with quality ingredients. It was only the wet variety that was subject to recall, not the kibble. I'm delighted to have found it on Amazon.

I just want to say that I fed my dogs this food for 20 years and it is excellent. And not too expensive for a quality food. Especially, if
your dog is prone to "SKIN ISSUES" from most foods. There is only one food
I prefer over this and it is both hard to find and more expensive.

Customer Reviews      One of the more economical choices 5
    I have found that different dogs respond optimally to different mixtures (kinda like people, eh?) or brands. With the Nutro, everyone seems to be happy. The ingredients look reasonable, the price is much better then most of the high end brands (with comparable ingredients, i might add :)), and the eat it all up right away factor is very high! Based upon these observations, I highly recommend that you give this brand a try!
